On the Mainland

It's only a 45 minute ferry ride away, but it's a whole different feel. The Steamship Authority is the gatekeeper to the world beyond island life. And unfortunately I learned today that my islander discount rate doesn't apply when you buy a one way ticket and won't be returning within 31 days!

I got new tires and brakes last week but now my check engine light it on. Hopefully a quick trip to Mazda in the morning will make things right! Most people associate Mazdas as Zoom Zoom, but mine is my little Beep Beep. “Baby you can drive my car. And maybe I’ll love you. Beep beep’m beep beep yeah.”

I had short but good visit with friends and family in Bourne this evening, and I’m looking forward to starting the drive tomorrow and reflecting on 2010.

Road Trip!

I must have been good this year because Santa (aka Mom) stocked me up for my road trip. With a new GPS, camera, and snacks I'll be good to go! I thought I'd try blogging to keep folks up to date as I travel. If all goes as planned I'll be leaving the Vineyard on Thursday and making my way to NYC for New Year's!
